Internationally acclaimed film "Yellow Rose" is now streaming on Netflix Philippines!
The musical drama, which stars Eva Noblezada, Princess Punzalan, and Lea Salonga, follows the journey of a Filipina teen living in a small Texas town who will face difficulties just to pursue her dreams as a country music performer.
In her journey, she would have to choose between staying with her family or leaving the only home she has known.
The movie had its Philippine premiere last January after it was distributed locally by Cinexpress.
It first premiered at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival in 2019 before its theatrical release in the U.S. in October 2020. The film has reaped 13 jury and audience awards from various festivals, which includes acting awards for Eva.
During one of the film's virtual conferences last January, "Yellow Rose" director Diane Paragas shared how much she waited for the film to finally "come home" to the Philippines.
"I've been waiting for this day for a long time. As much as it is an American film, it is definitely a Filipino film. I'm just really excited for people to see it there. It's been many, many years trying to get this thing made so this is a big moment for me. It feels like coming home," she said.
Diane also highlighted the exemplary portrayal of Eva as Rose in the movie.
"I am so, so, so excited for you to witness the magnificent transcendence and extraordinary performance of Eva Noblezada who I think will just blow you away," she added.
