“Fan Girl” won major awards at the fourth Entertainment Editors' Choice Awards for Movies or Eddys last Sunday, April 4, in a virtual ceremony. Eddy winners are determined by members of the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd).

ABS-CBN Films' Black Sheep was also named as a Rising Producers Circle Award Honoree.
“Fan Girl” shows how far a fan can go for her “idol.” In the film, Jane (Charlie Dizon) is an obsessed fan of movie star Paulo Avelino, who plays himself. She knows everything about Paulo’s life and career.
After she attends one of Paulo’s mall shows, we see Jane impulsively sneak onto the back of his pick-up truck to get closer to her idol. But Paulo may not be everything Jane expects him to be, and things quickly take an unexpected turn.
Newcomer Charlie dazzled and won the audience’s hearts as the smart yet naïve teenage protagonist while Paulo, known for his performances in "Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral" and "Kasal," went all out in playing the film’s fictional nasty version of himself.
The film is written and directed by Antoinette Jadaone, who also helmed "Alone/Together" and "That Thing Called Tadhana."
"Fan Girl" previously garnered multiple awards during the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Sound, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, and Best Musical Score.
“Fan Girl” is a collaboration between Black Sheep, Globe Studios, Project 8, Epicmedia, and Crossword Productions.
