Regine Velasquez marked her 51st birthday with a surprise free concert on her Facebook.
Yesterday, April 22, the Asia's Songbird tweeted that she'll be "live in a bit" expressing how much she missed singing for her fans.
"Hi guys I be live in a bit wala gusto ko lang kumanta. It’s in my official Facebook acc see yah actually now na 😂" she said.
Regine then performed on Facebook Live her greatest OPM hits, as well as some covers of her favorite songs. Her husband Ogie Alcasid also joined her in the virtual concert.
Among her songs that she performed were “Tunay Na Ligaya,” “Tuwing Umuulan,” and “Araw Gabi".
She also sang a cover of Ben&Ben’s “Leaves,” Ric Segreto’s “Don’t Know What to Say,” and Ronan Keating’s “When You Say Nothing at All”.
In the middle of the concert, Regine said that she is dedicating a song to the community pantry organizers and contributors across the country for their inspiring movement.
“May mga phenomenal na nangyayari sa paligid natin. And it’s so inspiring,” Regine said.
She then sang a cover of Corinne May's “Five Loaves and Two Fishes”, a Bible story-inspired song, as she paid tribute to the kindhearted people behind the community pantries.
“Ang pagtulong ay wala sa pangalan, wala sa stature sa lipunan, wala sa bulsa o sa institusyon. Ang tulong ay na sa puso,” she said.
“No matter how small you think your contribution, sa taong makakatanggap noon, malaking bagay na,” she added.
