Ever the humanitarian, Angel Locsin decided to mark her 36th birthday by joining the community pantry movement.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, April 22, Angel showed the supplies that would be available in her Quezon City community pantry.
"Bilang pagpupugay sa bayanihan ng mga Pilipino at sa mga nagtayo ng mga community pantries sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa natin, I decided to celebrate my birthday tomorrow by putting up a community pantry here," she wrote.
Angel's community pantry is located outside the Titanium Commercial Building, in Brgy. Holy Spirit. It is open from 10AM-4PM, or until supplies last.
The pantry will have free eggs, cooking oil, condiments, milk, bread, vitamins, sugar, coffee, alcohol, and more.
"Anyone is welcome. But please make sure to follow protocols. If you can, please bring your own ecobag para hindi makadagdag ng basura," she said.
Dozens of community pantries have sprouted across the country in an effort to help the poor and marginalized people survive the pandemic.
These pantries live by the motto "kumuha nang ayon sa pangangailangan; magbigay nang ayon sa kakayahan."
Angel Locsin has been very visible doing charity works through the pandemic despite her busy life.
The actress has been engaged to her fiance Neil Arce since 2019. Their 2020 wedding was postponed due to the pandemic.
But in an Instagram post early this year, Neil and Angel hinted at their plans to push through with the wedding this year.
