Bernadette Sembrano shares experience after testing positive for COVID-19

Bernadette Sembrano has tested positive for COVID-19 and is sharing her experience to raise awareness.

In a two-minute Instagram video, the “TV Patrol” news anchor said that she was shocked to find out that she has caught the virus as she isn’t feeling any symptoms at all.

“Nagulat din po ako, kasi wala akong nararamdaman at all. In fact, I feel healthy. Wala pong symptoms. Pero meron kaming mandatory RT-PCR test sa work, so when it came out, nawindang din ako. But anyway, I am coming out para lang ma-enlighten ang marami sa atin,” she explained.

Bernadette wishes to remind everyone to take extra care because, like her, you could be asymptomatic and not realize you’re carrying the virus that could infect others. “Kadalasan ang iniisip natin, ‘pag COVID, ‘yun pong mga pasyenteng mahina ang katawan na may tubo, nangangayayat, inuubo. Pero marami po ang kagaya ko na asymptomatic. Asymptomatic na feeling mo wala kayong sakit, wala kayong COVID at patuloy po tayong naghahalubilo kasama ang ibang tao. 'Yon ‘yung nakakatakot, kasi we can be endangering the lives of the people around us and the lives of our loved ones.”

She continued, “So please practice the health protocols, ‘cause we are doing it not only to protect ourselves, we are doing it to protect our loved ones. Magpa-vaccinate na rin tayo. I still believe that we can thrive and outsmart the virus. Alam naman natin ‘yung gagawin natin, eh.”

Bernadette says she’s lucky that she found out early on that she’s positive and was able to self-isolate. She also requested for prayers for recovery and said that she’s praying for everyone’s safety as well.

“Nakalusot, pero sa awa ng Diyos, na-test agad at nakapag-isolate agad. So, let's just really pray for the best. I'm praying for you, please pray for us too. Kaya natin ‘yan. You take care and God bless you. So, keep on praying,” said Bernadette.

Then she ended her message by saying, “Sa panahon ngayon, hindi natin kaaway ang isa't isa. Ang kaaway natin, COVID. So, hopefully we can fight this together. So, God bless you and God bless everybody.”

Her co-anchor Henry Omaga-Diaz is also currently in self-isolation. Karen Davila and Alvin Elchico will temporary fill in their spot on “TV Patrol” joining Julius Babao.
