Toni Gonzaga revealed some very exciting news about the Philippine adaptation of the classic Korean rom-com “My Sassy Girl” — which she starred in and co-produced under TinCan Films.
Speaking with G3 San Diego in a virtual interview last Monday, April 19, the actress shared that the plan is to have the film premiere in theaters when they open.
“I think they will wait,” she said, referring to distributor and local franchise holder Viva Films.
The Ultimate Multimedia Star added that she will have the chance to meet the film’s original cast, led by Jun Ji-hyun and Cha Tae-hyun.
“Part din ng deal doon sa franchise — and I’m praying it will happen — we will go to Korea and meet the original cast. Sana matuloy iyon,” she told G3.
She also mentioned that they’ve acquired the rights for the official “My Sassy Girl” soundtrack.
On her online talk show "I Feel U" last March 28, Toni expressed her gratitude for being able to do the project on her 20th anniversary in showbiz.
After wrapping up filming, Toni checked a rough cut of it and here’s what she thinks:
“‘Pag nakikita ko ‘yung rushes, [naiisip ko], what a way din to celebrate your 20 years in the business. When your heart is really is in the proper place, darating pa rin ‘yung mga blessings,” said Toni.
“My Sassy Girl” Philippine adaptation also stars Pepe Herrera and directed by Fifth Solomon.
