Pop culture peaked in 2008 and you can’t convince us otherwise!!!
The first “Iron Man” film was released and the Marvel Cinematic Universe was born, Beyoncé came out with the breakup anthem “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”, and “Iisa Pa Lamang” reigned on ABS-CBN’s primetime.
The TV series was made iconic by the performances of its lead stars Claudine Barretto, Angelica Panganiban, Cherry Pie Picache, Melissa Ricks, and the great Susan Roces.
It had drama, suspense, comedy, and was overall campy — just how every teleserye-loving Filipino likes it.
The Ruel S. Bayani and Manny Q. Palo-helmed show was filled with sooo many lines that proves to remain unforgettable as it quickly went viral when some scenes resurfaced online just recently.
It all started when Twitter user @yomattyu posted this promotional video and even more pulled up their own favorite “Iisa Pa Lamang” moments.
This clip boasts some of Claudine and Angelica’s fiercest scenes, including the one where they went from “agawan ng yaman” to “agawan ng mapapangasawa.”
We were also reminded of this scene where Cherry Pie, as the vindictive Isadora, pointed a gun at Claudine’s Catherine and said: “Ang ganda-ganda mo na ngayon, Catherine. Ang sarap mong patayin.”
Let us not forget that time Angelica as Scarlet taught us all about colors.
QUEEN Susan didn’t let her younger co-stars have all the fun. She got to throw some major shade too!
Whenever Cherry Pie and Angelica, two of the show’s villains shared the screen, it was pure magical chaos!
And, of course, who could forget this intense sagutan?
“Iisa Pa Lamang” ran from July to November. It also starred Gabby Concepcion, Diether Ocampo, Matt Evans, Laurice Guillen, Joel Torre, and more.
