When Dennis Padilla was lying on the hospital bed battling a lung infection due to COVID-19, all he could think of was his children.
In an interview with DZRH, the 59-year-old comedian shared that he was admitted to the hospital for 12 days and while confined, he prayed hard for “another chance at life” not for himself, but to be able to be with his children again.
Sana, You can give me another chance for life.”
Dennis has a daughter from his first marriage and three young children with his current wife. He also has three kids with his second wife Marjorie Barretto, Claudia, Leon, and Julia Barretto.
The “The House Arrest of Us” actor revealed that Julia would call him on the phone almost every night and that gave him strength.
“Halos every night ko sila nakakausap. She was telling me na all of them are praying hard for me,” he told DZRH.
Dennis is grateful for their prayers, which he believes are what led him to recovery.
They were praying for their father. They were praying for my recovery. They were praying na mawala na lahat yung infection ko sa lungs,” said Dennis.
He has tested negative for COVID-19 since early April.
