The newest season of “Your Face Sounds Familiar” just kicked off and we have been devouring every single performance by the amazing contestants!
The current batch is composed of diverse and talented individuals, including Vivoree, CJ Navato, and Lie Reposposa.
On “I Feel U” last Sunday, March 7, the three young stars shared their excitement about being part of the show and revealed how they got the gig.
CJ thinks his “Goin’ Bulilit” training prepared him for this. So when he got the invite to audition, he really gave it his all.
“Nung na-bring up siya before, ‘Uy magkakaroon ng ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’, gusto mo pitch kita?’ Sabi ko, ‘Jusko po, sige po, sige po! I will try my best.’ Tapos nung kailangan na mag-send ng audition video, I think for the first time in my life, naging sobrang enthusiastic ako… Talagang binibida ko ‘yung sarili ko. I really wanted to do it,” said CJ.
The process made Vivoree recall her “Pinoy Big Brother” audition, but said that “Your Face Sounds Familiar” is a totally different experience.
“Parang ganun pa rin ‘yung nararamdaman ko. Parang I’m starting again, kasi it’s a new journey. ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’ is a different show compared to ‘PBB’. Ito ‘yung you’re trying to impersonate different performers, so mas challenge talaga for me,” the “Hello Stranger: The Movie” actress explained.
Although at first, she doubted if she could pull it off, the trust and encouragement from people around her convinced her to give it a shot. “I’m still battling with self-doubt talaga. Kasi every time na may mao-offer sa akin na project, talagang, ‘Deserve ko ba ‘to?’ Parang grabe pala ‘yung tiwala ng iba tao sa ‘kin na kaya pala ‘yun.”
Fellow “PBB” alum Lie felt the same way. She thought being part of “Your Face Sounds Familiar” was too huge of a role for her, but she pushed through her worries and is now loving the experience, plus the new family she has found with the other contestants.
Tapos minsan magiging favorite pa po natin,” she continued.
Lie, Vivoree, and CJ are joined by Geneva Cruz, Christian Bables, Klarisse de Guzman, iDolls (Matty Juniosa, Lucas Garcia, and Enzo Almario), and Jhong Hilario.
Sharon Cuneta, Ogie Alcasid, and Gary Valenciano are the judges, while Nyoy Volante and Jed Madela serve as mentors.
Hosted by Luis Manzano, “Your Face Sounds Familiar” airs weekends on the Kapamilya Channel and A2Z at 8pm.
