Former Kapamilya news anchor Ted Failon has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a statement released by the broadcast journalist today, March 30, he said that he was informed that a co-worker whom he had close contact with has tested positive for the virus.
“As soon as I heard the news, I immediately put myself in self-isolation and decided to have myself tested the morning of March 29th,” he said.
The test came back later that night which indicated that he is also positive for COVID-19.
“I am asymptomatic and I will follow the advice to self-isolate and be placed on home quarantine. All my close contacts have been informed of my situation for their appropriate action,” he said.
“This is why now more than ever, we need to be extra cautious and take all necessary precautions to ensure our safety and the safety of our families," he added.
Apart from Ted, DJ Chacha was also among those who were considered a close contact by their co-worker. She revealed that she tested negative for the virus.
"Lumabas na yung resulta nung swab test ko kaninang umaga, at salamat Lord, negative ang resulta. Hindi porket negative, hindi na mag-iingat. Mas tripleng pag-iingat dapat gawin natin ngayon," DJ Chacha said in a Facebook post.
