OPM icon Claire Dela Fuente has passed away this morning, March 30, due to cardiac arrest. She was 63.
The sad news was confirmed by the singer's son Gigo, and was relayed by ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe on Twitter.
Claire is best known for her OPM hit songs such as “Sayang,” “Nakaw Na Pag-Ibig,” and “Minsan Minsan”.
She was discovered by noted composer George Canseco when she joined a singing contest at the age of 15.
The OPM icon most recently made a public appearance when she came in defense of her son Gregorio de Guzman who was allegedly involved in the case of flight attendant Christine Dacera.
