Nadine Lustre cleared some things up about her Nylon Manila cover story that just came out, where she talked about self-love and healing.
In the interview, she opened up about bottling up her emotions in the past and walking away before she gets hurt in certain situations.
She also mentioned that whenever a “relatioship” ends, she would always be left wondering what she did wrong or could have done better.
Nadine said, “I’ve always been afraid of being left behind. I’m afraid of being abandoned, because that’s how it feels when you’re in a relationship for a long time and you separate. It changes you a lot. It makes you feel like there was something wrong with you that’s why the person left you.”
While she did mention her breakup with James Reid, the “Wildest Dreams” artist went to Twitter to clarify she wasn’t specifically talking about that when she made the statement above.
“Ima put this here before u get any ideas,” she tweeted with a dictionary definition of the word “relationship”.
In another tweet, she added, “Qiqil acoe sa mga assumptions niyo ihh.”
A follower accused her of “contradicting” her own words and said, “If move on, move on na. Masasaktan ka lang if didikit ka kay James, kahit may new GF na siya and imbes maka-heal ka, lalo ka lang masasaktan, gurl.”
And Nadine replied, “‘Di ko kasalanan kung ang ‘relationship’ lang na alam mo is romantic.”
Nadine and James announced their breakup through a joint statement in January 2020. However, rumors of them getting back together persist after being spotted in several events and locations together.
