Angel Locsin was given a Cinemadvocate Award by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) for her humanitarian efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Instagram yesterday, March 1, the Kapamilya actress thanked the FDCP for their heartwarming tribute, which included messages from her fiance Neil Arce and close friend Dimples Romana.
According to FDCP, they recognized Angel "for her exemplary humanitarian work that inspires all in the film industry and gives profound credence to all actors who share their talent and influence for the good of many.”
In the short clip, Dimples put the spotlight on the actress' "heart of an angel," as she always comes to the rescue whenever a calamity happens.
She said, "Angel kasi has really a heart of an angel, a heart of gold. Each time something comes out, bagyo, lindol, COVID, Angel is always making sure that nakakapagbigay siya, nakakatulong siya, nakakapaglingkod siya.”
Meanwhile, Neil said that selflessness is the biggest lesson he has learned from his fiance.
“Kapag hindi niya naipaglaban ang tama, hindi siya masaya. Being selfless is the biggest lesson I’ve learned from her, na isipin muna ang iba bago ang sarili niya,” he said in the video.
Angel also thanked Gines Saringaya and Dr. Marev Matic in her post for their utmost support for her initiative.
For the last part of her post, Angel said she hopes that their team will inspire many people to help their fellow Filipinos.
"At siyempre, sa lahat ng mga naniwala. Nakakahiya man na ako ang nabigyan ng parangal, pero sila po ang rason kung bakit ako nakakakilos. Sana sa pinakita nila, marami pa hong mabigyang inspirasyon. Maraming salamat FDCP," she wrote.
