Veteran actress and legendary radio voice talent Laura Hermosa passed away at 92 years old due to renal failure at her home Tuesday, March 16.
Her daughter actress Tessie Tomas confirmed it to ABS-CBN News saying that their mother has “died peacefully in her sleep at 7:35 a.m.”
Weeks ago, Laura was infected by the COVID-19 infection but managed to recover from it.
Looking back on the life her mom lived, Tessie shared, “She was an excellent mother to all of us, five boys and one girl, ako. At age 10, around 1960, she made me her protégée, teaching me voice acting, kaya alam ko ang tawang mayaman, tawang mahirap, at tawang hostess.”
Laura appeared on several episodes of “Maalaala Mo Kaya” and played unforgettable roles in films, including “Boss, Basta Ikaw, Wa Na Ko Sey”, “Nagbabagang Luha”, and “Broken Marriage”.
A wake and memorial will be held at Arlington Memorial Chapels in Quezon City starting Wednesday. She will be buried at the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina this Saturday.
