“Fan Girl” marks another milestone in Philippine cinema with nine nominations at the 69th FAMAS Annual Awards!
The coming-of-age drama is among the leading nominees of this year’s FAMAS Awards, as announced by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences on Wednesday, December 1.
Helmed by Antoinette Jadaone, who was also nominated for Best Director and Best Screenplay, “Fan Girl” received nominations in nine categories, including Best Picture, Best Actress (Charlie Dizon), Best Actor (Paulo Avelino), Best Cinematography (Neil Daza), Best Sound (Vincent Villa), Best Editing (Benjamin Tolentino), and Best Production (Ferdie Abuel).
Black Sheep took to Instagram to proudly share the wonderful announcement made by the premier award-giving body.
The caption read, “WE MADE IT, 'MA! FAN GIRL has been nominated in not one, not two, not three, but NINE categories in this year's 69th FAMAS Awards!”
“Fan Girl” is a dark coming-of-age drama about a young girl deeply infatuated with her celebrity idol. It first premiered at the 33rd Tokyo International Film Festival on October 31, 2020. It is currently streaming on Netflix.
The official date for the awarding ceremony has yet to be announced.
