'CGMagic' throwback: What makes Cathy Garcia-Molina the legendary director she is today

We laughed, we cried, and we fell in love with Cathy Garcia-Molina's movies.

But if there's anything we truly laud about the legendary director is the distinct magic she has behind the camera. All films take a village to mount, but not all have the meticulousness and attention to detail Direk Cathy has.

Before we see her latest movie "Love at First Stream" this December 25, let's look back to the online show that gave us a peek inside her magical way of filmmaking — "CGMagic"!

CGMagic Season 1: "My Perfect You"

The first season debuted in 2018 and showed us how Direk Cathy managed to make the team-up of Gerald Anderson and Pia Wurtzbach work for "My Perfect You," their first project together.

Like any film, the romance-drama had its fair share of good and bad days, but Direk Cathy proved that no amount of challenges (in their case, a major discontinuity problem) can stop them from making a stellar film.

CGMagic Season 2: "The Hows of Us"

For the second season, Direk Cathy reunited with Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla for "The Hows of Us," where she admitted she became harsher in handling them as actors.

And while she is indeed quite harsh once the cameras start rolling, we saw how she managed to bring out the best from KathNiel as Primo and George in her own distinct way.

CGMagic Season 3: "Hello, Love, Goodbye"

The movie that challenged them all, we saw how the whole team gave their 100% for "Hello, Love, Goodbye." From how Direk Cathy "stripped off" Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards' celebrity status for their roles to how she handled the bustling setting in Hong Kong, we only had respect and admiration for her professionalism as a director.
