Life is challenging for everyone. But having a solid circle of friends you can lean on can make life a little more bearable.
Just like our friendships in real life, these barkadas in film are a great reminder that we can't get by without a little help from them. Through the ups and downs, to making the most life-changing decisions, these amazing squads are the definition of true #friendshipgoals.
Below are some of the best movie squads that you'd wish you also belong to:
1. Diane, Ricky, Ese, Joey, Gina, Garry, Melani, and Brian from "Gimik"
Some often outgrow friendships after college, but not with the "Gimik" barkada. Comprised of Diane (Judy Ann Santos), Ricky (Rico Yan), Ese (Jolina Magdangal), Joey (Marvin Agustin), Gina (G Toengi), Garry (Diether Ocampo), Melani (Mylene Dizon), and Brian (Bojo Molina), their reunion proved that no matter how busy or how old one gets, you can always make time for the friends you value in life.
2. Thursday Barkada from "One More Chance"
Arguably one of the most famous squads in film, the Thursday Barkada — composed of Bea Alonzo, John Lloyd Cruz, Dimples Romana, Janus Del Prado, Beatriz Saw, James Blanco, and Ahron Villena — of "One More Chance" will always have a special place in our hearts. They are proof that true friendships are always there through the highs and lows, and that they are there to guide you in making the most crucial decisions in your life.
3. George, Mikko, and Awee, and Primo's bandmates from "The Hows of Us"
In the 2018 film, George (Kathryn Bernardo) and Primo (Daniel Padilla) have a circle of friends of their own: Mikko (Juan Miguel Severo) and Awee (Ria Atayde) for George and his bandmates for Primo. And if there's anything we love about their friendships is how mature they are in handling George and Primo's relationship, from their breakup up to when they finally reconciled.
4. Eunice, Olivia, Kenly, Justin, Richalaine, Marie, Gerard, and Kiko from "Bloody Crayons"
Like any other college barkada, the squad from "Bloody Crayons" mirrors every kind of friend present in a squad. There's the soft and timid friend, the goofy one, the party girl, and more that each of us can surely relate to.
5. Joy, Sally, Mary Dale, and Gina from "Hello, Love, Goodbye"
While Joy (Kathryn Bernardo), Sally (Kakai Bautista), Mary Dale (Maymay Entrata), and Gina's (Lovely Abella) friendship only started when they met each other in Hong Kong as OFWs, how they treated each other like family is something we truly admire. Imagine finding people who will help you while they're struggling with their own lives too? That's pure friendship right there.
