‘Saying Goodbye’ cast reveals what to expect from the series

Fans of SethDrea and KoDrea have every reason to get excited as we inch closer and closer to the premiere of iQiyi original series “Saying Goodbye."

The “Saying Goodbye” cast, including Seth Fedelin, Andrea Brillantes, Kobie Brown, and Andi Abaya, introduced their characters in detail during the ABS-CBN Entertainment and iQiyi mediacon held yesterday, November 23.

For his first-ever acting stint, Kobie will be playing the “very awkward” Vic who is the best friend of Ricky (Seth). Both Kobie and Seth’s characters have heart conditions which motivates them to live life to the fullest.

“Si Vic is a very awkward guy, he’s new sa Pampanga so he goes there to live his life to the fullest because he has a heart disease actually, and that’s where he meets Ricky’s character,” explained Kobie.

Vic’s love interest in the show is the “happy-go-lucky” Joni, played by Andi Abaya, who happens to be the childhood best friend of med student Elise (Andrea).

As for SethDrea’s characters, Ricky and Elise were brought together by a mutual love for Yeng Constantino and consequently became best friends for seven years.

“Ako dito si Ricky. Parang siyang YOLO talaga. Tapos ‘everyday is a blessing' 'yung mga motto niya. Kapag may problema siya, hindi niya pinoproblema. Hinahayaan niya ‘yung problema na mamroblema sa sarili niya,” Seth said of his carefree character.

Seth hopes that his character will convey the message of seeing death as a source of motivation to live each day as best as you can.

“Dito ang maituturo namin sa kanila at ang pakay namin na makita nila sa series na ito ay ‘wag titignan ‘yung death bilang deadline, kung hindi bilang motivation na gawin ‘yung mga bagay na gusto natin magawa,” he said.

Meanwhile, Andrea hopes that her character will move people to act on their true feelings before time runs out.

"Ang maituturo ko sa kanila ay, umamin ka na," she said directly. "Don’t waste your time... Sabihin mo na ‘yung totoong nararamdaman mo kasi minsan mas magandang sabihin mo na before it’s too late."

Andrea also revealed that they took on more mature roles in this series, with topics like love, friendship, death, and heart disease as the central themes of the show.

“Mas mahirap po ‘yung roles namin dito kasi mas malalim ho siya kasi ang ‘Saying Goodbye’ hindi lang siya tungkol sa love, it’s about friendship. And we’re tackling situations like death, heart diseases, kaya mas seryoso siya kasi ito nangyayari talaga ‘to sa totoong buhay,” she detailed.

“Saying Goodbye” is set to premiere on December 4 at 8 p.m. for FREE on www.iQ.com and the iQiyi app.
