It's official: cameras have started rolling for "Darna: The TV Series"!
JRB Creative Production, the entertainment unit behind the teleserye, shared some snaps from its first taping day on Instagram on Monday, November 15.
Jane De Leon, who will portray the iconic superheroine Darna, can be seen on the set, which was taken at the ABS-CBN Studios in Bulacan.
The series' director Chito S. Roño was also seen being fully hands-on during the taping.
Apart from the taping updates, JRB also teased that they'll finally make "The Valentina Reveal" this coming Friday, November 19.
A close-up shot of a snake scale can be seen in the short teaser, along with a hissing heard in the background.
It can be remembered that the full "Darna: The TV Series" cast was unveiled last October, except for the antagonist Valentina.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News last month, Direk Chito said he envisions the teleserye as something "less soapy" and "more natural" compared to the past adaptations.
“I wanted 'Darna' to be less soapy, more gritty and natural, more real, but retain the character of bigger than life, obviously different from everybody else," he said.
Also starring Iza Calzado, Joshua Garcia, Kiko Estrada, Rio Locsin, and more, "Darna: The TV Series" is set to be released soon.
