‘Gusto ko siya as a person’: Joshua Garcia opens up about working with Charlie Dizon

In just a few days, Filipino audiences worldwide will get to see Charlie Dizon and Joshua Garcia star in their first project together, the highly-anticipated drama series “Viral Scandal.”

In the "Viral Scandal" bloggers conference held today, November 11, Charlie and Joshua candidly talked about their working relationship and the admirable traits that they noticed in one another.

Charlie, who rose to prominence in the 2020 film “Fan Girl,” frankly said that upon meeting Joshua for the first time, she was surprised by how tall he actually is in person.

Height difference aside, Charlie praised Joshua for being a helpful and supportive co-star especially in the series' drama-heavy scenes.

Prior to working on set for “Viral Scandal,” Charlie and Joshua first met during a commercial shoot. Now that they have a closer working relationship, Charlie pointed out how Joshua is “thoughtful” and “a gentleman.”

“Siyempre unang-una ‘yung tinutulungan niya po talaga ako sa mga scenes,” Charlie spoke of what she likes about Joshua.

When asked if she sees Joshua as boyfriend material, Charlie smilingly answered: “Hindi ko pa iniisip ‘yan… wala pa tayo diyan, nagwo-work pa kami.”

Joshua also had similarly positive things to say about Charlie, particularly about her previous performance in “Fan Girl.”

“Magaling siya umarte,” Joshua affirmed.

He then addressed Charlie, “Okay ka dun ah.

As for getting to know Charlie behind the scenes, Joshua claimed that he likes Charlie “as a person” even though he admittedly couldn’t explain the exact reason why.

Being the more experienced actor between them, Joshua was asked to give words of advice for Charlie. Going off of his own experiences, he then advised Charlie to focus on enjoying her journey in showbiz.

And sana magkatrabaho ulit tayo soon, ‘di ba?” Joshua told Charlie.

Directed by Dado Lumibao and Froy Allan Leonardo, "Viral Scandal" follows the story of Rica Sicat (Charlie) who becomes the unwilling subject of a viral sex scandal.

The series' ensemble cast also includes Dimples Romana, Jake Cuenca, Miko Raval, Rommel Padilla, Maxene Magalona, Ria Atayde, Kaila Estrada, Markus Paterson, Vance Larena, Gian Magdangal, Louise Abuel, Aya Fernandez, Karina Bautista, and Aljon Mendoza.

The series will premiere on November 15 on the Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and A2Z Channel 11.
