If the new normal taught us anything about love, it’s to value what or who matters most. To this point, the following celebrities traded in grand weddings for more pared down ceremonies, bringing their love into focus and giving us all the feels.
Angel Locsin and Neil Arce
Angel and Neil’s wedding came as a pleasant surprise to netizens! They revealed the big news on their Youtube channel on August 7, then shared their wedding vlog a week later on August 14.
The couple wed on July 26 in a civil ceremony witnessed by select friends and family members.
Angel described the wedding as, ”It's very intimate, very simple, it's very us.”
Their adorable wedding snaps were taken by Nice Print Photography but they said they didn’t even hire a videographer for the occasion. That’s how simple their wedding was!
Jessy Mendiola and Luis Manzano
Jessy and Luis said their “I do’s” last April 4 in a stunning minimalist ceremony with only a few dear friends and family members in attendance. Their intimate wedding was held in The Farm at San Benito.
“We weren’t expecting anything grand or out of this world, and yet the set-up was more than what we expected,” wrote Jessy on Instagram, noting that they really wanted a "simple and clean" event to celebrate their love.
Alex Gonzaga and Mikee Morada
Alex and Mikee kept their wedding gorgeously simple at the Gonzaga residence in Taytay, Rizal in November 2020.
Not only did the couple opt for an intimate ceremony, but they chose to keep their married status private before letting the public know in January 2021.
KZ Tandingan and TJ Monterde
The pandemic proved to be a difficult time for KZ Tandingan and TJ Monterde to exchange their vows, as their families couldn’t fly in from Mindanao to attend their wedding. But proving that love conquers all, the music power couple was able to hold a beautiful garden wedding on August 28, 2020.
“With only a handful of people and our families attending through zoom, we held our symbolic wedding under a 300 hundred-year-old Mango tree,” KZ shared on Instagram.
Yam Concepcion and Miguel Cuunjieng
Yam and her new husband Miguel tied the knot in a civil ceremony on a yacht in New York last July 24. Instead of a veil and a long wedding train, Yam opted to wear a bridal straw hat on the special day, which is just the absolute cutest if you ask us!
“I’m now officially Miguel’s fly fishing wife,” Yam said in reference to Miguel’s love for fishing.
