It’s official! Renowned master director Chito S. Roño will be directing “Darna: The TV Series”, the most-awaited TV adaptation of Mars Ravelo’s iconic superheroine.
The series, which will begin filming in November, is Direk Chito’s first TV project after nearly a decade. His last TV show “Maria Mercedes” was made back in 2013.
Known as the Master of Scare in box office, the highly-acclaimed horror director is also behind hit fantaseryes “Imortal”, “Lastikman”, and “Spirits” and award-winning drama films “Bata, Bata… Pa'no Ka Ginawa?”, “Dekada ‘70”, and “Caregiver”.
In a recent interview with "TV Patrol," lead star Jane de Leon shared her excitement over shooting for the series.
"Kinikilig ako na excited na kinakabahan sa totoo lang. Iba pa rin ang pakiramdam kapag malapit na kasi malapit na talaga kaming magsimula,” she said.
The series follows the story of Filipino superheroine Darna who uses her powers to fight against criminals and evil forces. It will be produced by ABS-CBN’s JRB Creative Production.
