WATCH: Riva Quenery shares birthing process in new vlog

Riva Quenery made sure to take her followers with her on her journey to becoming a first-time mom.

In a vlog she uploaded last October 16, the former Girltrends member shared her weekly routine from her 37th week of pregnancy up to when she was finally in labor.

Riva said she actually hoped to give birth earlier than her due date, which was October 9. The actress then started preparing as early as her 37th week, such as undergoing RT-PCR tests and doing pregnancy workouts just in case she will experience early signs of labor.

However, she didn't have any symptoms until her actual due date.

On October 9, the actress said she had minimal blood discharge and other changes in her body. "Tumitigas na 'yung tiyan ko, so nakakakita na ako ng progress. Nadadagdagan na 'yung hope ko na magno-normal delivery tayo."

But she still didn't have labor contractions until 2 AM on October 12.

As seen in the latter part of the video, Riva can be seen crying while lying on a yoga ball, as her boyfriend Vern Ong massaged her back to help ease her pain. Vern also made sure to assist Riva in positions that she will find herself comfortable in.

On the morning of October 12, Riva was then rushed to the hospital, was admitted, and finally gave birth.

The 22-year-old then gave a last update to her followers before she officially gave birth. Recalling her painful labor, she shared, "Noong nag-eight centimeters ako sabi ko, 'Ito na ba 'yun?' So nagwe-wait na lang kami sa pagdating ni Athena."

"Hindi ko in-expect na ganito 'yung magiging vlog ko. Akala ko pagdating ko dito, diretso na kami sa [delivery] room. After nun recovery room ka muna, hindi ka muna sa kwarto mo. Ang dami mo pang pagdadaanan bago ka makapag-relax sa room mo. So hopefully yung next update natin, si Athena na," she added.
The couple was then able to document the whole birthing process through audio, where Riva's screams can be heard in the background.

And as much as they tried to go for a normal delivery, the doctor advised Riva to go for cesarean section instead since their baby isn't tolerating labor.

Sharing photos from the delivery room, Riva and Vern finally welcomed their daughter Athena Rae.
