OPM singer Jayda is “over the moon” after her major win at the International Film Festival Manhattan 2021.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, October 16, the Rise artist gushed about bagging the Best Music Video award for her “Paano Kung Naging Tayo?” MV, which also served as her directorial debut alongside director Edrex Clyde Sanchez.
“I’m over the moon to announce that “paano kung naging tayo?” has won “best music video” at the International Film Festival Manhattan 2021!! Never would’ve seen it coming that my directorial debut into the world of music video directing would be recognized as my first win in a category like this 🥺” she wrote in the caption.
Jayda also thanked her co-director for helping her throughout the process and letting her grow as a creator.
“We did it rekdi!! 😭 thank you for guiding me, collaborating, and being with me throughout this whole process! not to mention, for also helping and allowing me to grow as a creator whenever we work together! I appreciate you! you and i both know how much this project means to the both of us, i won’t forget our very emotional session editing this one ❤️” she added.
Jayda also thanked her co-star in the MV and fellow Rise artist Rhys Miguel, and the rest of the team who made the MV possible. “This couldn’t have been done without you guys! I say this time and time again but it’s really true that this is your award just as much as it is ours! ✨”
The film festival, which ran from October 14 to 17 in New York City, offers a quality selection of world-class films that encompasses different genres of diverse programs including narrative features, documentaries, music videos, and student films from all over the world.
