The past days haven't been the easiest for Andrea Brillantes.
On the October 8th episode of “The Interviewer” by Boy Abunda, Andrea disclosed that she tested positive for COVID-19.
The “Huwag Kang Mangamba” actress revealed that while she is asymptomatic, she’s been facing difficulties when it comes to her mental health while in isolation.
"Ang pinakamahirap po kasi para sa akin Tito Boy is I have insomnia po and anxiety,” shared the actress.
She detailed her battle with insomnia, saying, “Sa araw sobrang kaya ko naman lahat. Ginagawa ko lang, I just read books. Pagdating po ng gabi, doon po ako nahihirapan. Kasi meron nga po akong insomnia so hirap po talaga ako makatulog. Ngayon po to be honest kasi takot po ako mag-isa. Huwag po sana kayo matawa, lapitin po kasi ako ng multo.”
When Tito Boy asked what she’s doing to cope with her insomnia and anxiety, Andrea answered, “Insomnia I believe nagsimula siya kasi maaga po ako nagtrabaho so maaga po na-ano 'yung body clock ko. And kasi lagi po akong binabangungot and lagi akong nagkakaroon ng sleep paralysis. So nagkaroon ako ng fear na matulog kasi may mga tao na nagkaka-heart attack sa pagtulog nila. Hindi na sila nagigising. So I believe kasi sobrang bangungot nila ‘yun. Ang ginagawa ko lang po is lagi akong nagpre-pray.”
Andrea also said that she has consulted with a professional therapist regarding her insomnia.
According to Andrea, her self-isolation for quarantine is the first time she’s been away from “tons of people” in her entire life.
"Sa work ko po, lagi akong surrounded with tons of people and never po akong naging mag-isa. For the first time sa 18 years ko po, ito lang talaga na nagkaroon ako ng quiet time alone for myself. Kahit takot ako meron pa rin akong nakikitang kaunting happiness and peace,” said Andrea.
