ABS-CBN raked in a total of 11 national wins at the prestigious Asian Academy Creative Awards 2021 held on September 30, Thursday.
Among the acting wins were brought home by JM De Guzman, who was hailed as Best Actor for his performance on "Init Sa Magdamag."
Sylvia Sanchez and Nonie Buencamino were named Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor respectively for their performances in the inspirational series “Huwag Kang Mangamba.”
ABS-CBN Films' breakthrough series "He's Into Her" also took home two awards: the Best Original Program by Streamer/OTT and Best Theme Song by P-Pop group BGYO.
The series' director Chad Vidanes also received the Best Direction award.
Three Kapamilya shows also received awards from AAA: "Everybody, Sing!" as the Best Music/Dance Program; "Maalaala Mo Kaya" as the Best Single Drama/Anthology Episode for “Two Mothers,”; and “Fedelina: A Stolen Life” as the Best Documentary Program.
Unkabogable Phenomenal Star Vice Ganda was also named as Best Entertainment Program host, while Broadcast Journalist Karen Davila was named Best News Anchor for ANC’s “Headstart.”
The winners will represent the Philippines in the upcoming Grand Awards this December and compete against the best of other Asian countries.
