‘Yellow Rose' gets 5 honors at the inaugural Gold List

The critically-acclaimed “Yellow Rose” just received another recognition from an international organization!

The Filipino-American film received Honorable Mentions from this year’s Gold List, a collaboration between CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment) and Gold Open, which aims to promote Asian-led and multicultural films and their inclusion in major categories in various award-giving bodies.

The Gold List gave honor to “Yellow Rose” as one of this year’s best pictures, alongside Oscar Best Picture contenders “Minari” and “Sound of Metal”, as well as Netflix films “The Half of It” and “The White Tiger”.

Diane Paragas was also recognized on the list as director and writer for her original screenplay for “Yellow Rose”.

Eva Noblezada and Lea Salonga were listed under Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, respectively.

“Yellow Rose” follows the journey of a Filipina teen named Rose from a small Texas town who will face difficulties just to pursue her dreams as a country music performer, while also having to choose between staying with her family or leaving the only home she has known.

The film premiered at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival in May 2019 and screened at several other film festivals across the globe. It opened in 9th place at the US box office and showed in over 900 theaters over its opening weekend. It currently stands with an 86% approval rate on Rotten Tomatoes and a 71/100 score on Metacritic.

Also starring Princess Punzalan, Dale Watson, Gustavo Gomez, Libby Villari, and Liam Booth, “Yellow Rose” is streaming this January 29 on the following platforms: KTX.ph, Iwant TFC, Cignal PPV, and Sky Cable PPV! Bagong sine, now na!
