Now on her seventh month of pregnancy, Ryza Cenon is only a few weeks away from giving birth to her son with boyfriend Miguel Cruz.
And with her partner being a (sort of) non-showbiz personality, many have been curious as to who Miguel is and how they actually met. Here, we listed down the five things you need to know about the cinematographer who captured Ryza's heart:
1. He is the son of the late Rodell Cruz, one of the country's top production designers.
Miguel's passion for filmmaking might just be genetic. In an article by PEP, Miguel was revealed to be the son of the late Rodell Cruz, who was one of the country's best production designers. His credits include Peque Gallaga's "Oro, Plata, Mata" and the reality show "Survivor Philippines," so it is no surprise that his son would pursue a career in the same field too.
2. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration before pursuing filmmaking courses.
Miguel holds a degree in Business Administration. However, a year after he graduated, he travelled to the US to fulfill a Directing Summer Program at the University of Southern California, and attended cinematography workshops in Rockport, Maine as well.

3. He has worked behind the camera both on TV and in film.
Right after he finished his workshops and courses in the US, Miguel then returned to the Philippines to make a name of his own in the field of cinematography. Among his notable projects include the 2017 horror-comedy "DOTGA: Da One That Ghost Away," indie films "K'na, the Dreamweaver," and "Kusina," among others.
4. He is also a photographer!
Apart from cinematography, Miguel also has a passion for travelling the world and taking photographs of breathtaking sceneries and people. His Instagram account boasts some of his photographs from countries such as Cambodia, Japan, Peru, and more.
5. He met Ryza through a common friend.
In 2019, Ryza flew to Belgium with the cast of “The General’s Daughter.” When she came back, she said that she was introduced to Miguel by her friend, who is also close to him.
"Ipinakilala po siya sa akin ng friend ko, manager ng bank na si Ms. Maricar. Tapos ‘yun na po. Halos seven months din po siyang nanligaw sa akin,” Ryza said in an interview with PEP.
We can’t wait to meet your little bundle of joy, Ryza and Miguel!
