COMPILED: Celebrities react to the ostrich running around Quezon City

2020 has been a pretty rollercoaster ride. And perhaps to give us all a tiny bit of reprieve from what seems to be a string of low dips, news broke about an ostrich running carefree in a subdivision in Quezon City.

Just yesterday, August 4, a netizen named Dino Rivera spotted an ostrich running along the main road of their subdivision. Turns out, the ostriches (yup, there were two of them) slipped away from its owner. He shared the video on his Facebook with the caption, "I have seen weird things in my life but this one ranks up there."

A Quezon City resident caught in a video an ostrich chasing after a car in Mapayapa Village around 9 a.m. of Tuesday after it apparently slipped away from its owner or caretaker. Dino Rivera, the uploader of the video on Facebook, said that the video is not edited. "I have seen weird things in my life but this one ranks up there. Hindi po yan google app ha. Nakascooter pa naman ako baka asawahin ako," Rivera said in his Facebook post. Video Courtesy: Dino Rivera

The post immediately went viral, prompting netizens and celebrities alike to share their hilarious reactions to one of the weirdest things that have happened this pandemic.

Bianca Gonzalez, Bela Padilla, Alessandra De Rossi, and Gretchen Ho were all united in the notion that the ostrich pretty much sums up 2020.

But kidding aside, Alessandra said that she hoped no pain was inflicted on the ostriches after they got caught by the authorities.

Meanwhile, Jennylyn Mercado joked about how the ostrich running away from authorities reminded her of herself.

K Brosas also dubbed the videos on TikTok as if the ostrich was running to get ayuda. 😂

As of yesterday, August 4, the ostriches have been returned to their caretaker, who is reportedly a resident of the subdivision. Read related stories here:
