'Burado,' cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic

Dreamscape Entertainment's "Burado" starring Julia Montes and Nadine Lustre is bowing out.

The production unit confirmed the news to ABS-CBN News on Monday, August 10. Production had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions in the country and overseas. The action-drama, which was announced last February, was supposed to be filmed locally and in Thailand, Cambodia, and India. According to Dreamscape, it would be "difficult to mount at this time.”

One of the series' lead stars, Thai actor Denkhun Ngamnet also “cannot be flown in due to the pandemic.”

Apart from Julia, Nadine, and Denkhun, "Burado" was also supposed to star Zanjoe Marudo and Paulo Avelino. Carmi Martin, Angel Aquino, Joko Diaz, Ina Raymundo, Lotlot de Leon, Matet de Leon, Raymond Bagatsing, Mccoy de Leon, Javi Benitez, and Kokoy de Santos, were also introduced as cast members.

"Burado" is among a number of Kapamilya shows that had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. It follows Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil's hit show "Make It With You," which had to cut its run short.
