Catriona Gray's legal team is taking serious action against the people who are spreading fake, distasteful photos of her on social media.
In a statement released by Catriona's lawyer Joji Alonso yesterday, July 19, he said that they are now coordinating with authorities after it has come to their attention that a tabloid will be releasing the Miss Universe 2018's "fake" topless photos.
“We want to inform the public that the photo is fake and digitally altered,” they said in a statement published on Cornerstone's Instagram page.
“We strongly denounce this vicious attempt to tarnish the good name of Ms. Gray.”
"We are actively coordinating with authorities to hold accountable whoever is behind this scheme and face penal sanctions accordingly. We will likewise take legal action against those involved in the manufacture and publication of said photo,” they added.
Atty. Joji also urged netizens to be critical of what they see on social media.
“At a time when fake news is prevalent, we firmly urge the public to be discerning and critical of what they see and share on social media,” they wrote.
Apart from the statement, Catriona's partner Sam Milby also slammed all the "false accusations" thrown at the beauty queen in an Instagram post last night, July 19.
