We'll always be a sucker for rom-coms especially the ones that make us believe that lasting love is real. And what could be better proof of that than weddings?
And since we're officially entering the June wedding season, we compiled five of the most beautiful and iconic weddings in film that are just way too romantic not to be remembered.
1. “Four Sisters and a Wedding”
Based on the title itself, this 2013 family movie was about four sisters who reunited amid their busy schedules to witness the wedding of their youngest sibling CJ (Enchong Dee). But what was supposed to be a wonderful celebration went awry when CJ's wedding got cancelled at the last minute, after every single detail had already been planned and prepared.
Everything wasn’t in vain, though! CJ’s Ate Bobbie (Bea Alonzo) and her boyfriend Tristan (Sam Milby) were the ones who pushed through with the under the sea-themed wedding, complete with a mermaid-inspired wedding dress, and bridesmaids dressed like sea creatures! Totally iconic.
2. “It Takes a Man and a Woman”
After going through endless fights and a painful breakup, Laida (Sarah Geronimo) and Miggy (John Lloyd Cruz) ended up on the aisle together. And just in case you didn’t know, Sarah and John Lloyd actually wrote their wedding vows for their on-screen wedding, making that scene especially heartfelt and memorable.
3. “Bride For Rent”
Everything was supposed to be just fake between Rocco (Xian Lim) and Rocky (Kim Chiu), but the time they spent with each other made their love real. In the end, the supposedly fake wedding became one of the most amazing, surprising, and exciting ceremonies we’ve ever seen.
4. “A Second Chance”
Everyone waited for the sequel to the iconic Popoy (John Lloyd Cruz) and Basha (Bea Alonzo) love story, and it surely didn’t disappoint! "A Second Chance" didn’t just give us the much-needed closure to a roller coaster love story that had the entire country hooked, it also gave us one of the most simple yet one of the most heartfelt wedding scenes we've seen on the big screen.
5. “Can’t Help Falling In Love”
If you can’t wait for Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s real life wedding (which will happen four to five years from now according to the latter), don't you worry because you have Gab (Kathryn) and Dos' (Daniel) nuptials in the 2017 romance to tide you over. From Kathryn’s wedding dress, to the whole setup, up to their wedding vows, this movie wedding was truly one for the books.
