People always think being single already equates to being sad. Sure you may not have a go-to significant other to share your every day with, but does that mean you are lonely and unloved? These Kapamilya stars say "no, way!"
Here, we listed down some of your favorite celebrities and their point-of-view on being single that might just inspire you to happily embrace your singlehood:
1. Bea Alonzo
“Na-realize ko, marami palang mas importante sa buhay ko, ‘di lang jowa.”
This is what Bea said just months after her breakup in 2019 during the press conference of her film "Unbreakable." She has so much on her plate that she’s not thinking of love just yet. The actress also shared what she learned from her recent heartbreak, for those who feel like their world has ended because of the pain they experienced.
“Sa mga pinagdaanan ko, na-realize ko na dapat 'di mo iniiwasan ang pain. Dapat ini-endure mo siya, dapat natuto ka, dapat 'di ka natatakot pag may lungkot napaparating,” she added.
2. Jodi Sta. Maria
Jodi revealed in an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" that she has been single for a long time and that she's actually been enjoying it because she got to learn more about herself.
“I’d say na this is probably the longest na I’ve been, you know, single. And I never realized na it can be a wonderful and a beautiful season pala. Parang ito ‘yung time to grow as an individual. You will discover a lot of things about yourself. Alone does not mean lonely,” she pressed.
3. Donny Pangilinan
Meanwhile, Donny is proud to say that he’s happily single and that he’s in love with his passion for acting and music.
“Oo, may masayang single talaga dapat. Hindi naman ‘pag sinabing single...or bakit pag sinasabing single malungkot kaagad? Hindi naman, ‘di ba?” he said during an interview on "Magandang Buhay."
“Kung masaya ka sa ginagawa mo, hindi mo naman kailangan palagi may jowa. Self-love muna ako,” he added.
4. Elisse Joson
For Elisse, being single is all about taking the time to know yourself and to grow closer with the people who matter.
"The best thing about being single is enjoying life with your friends, learning about yourself, and enjoying time with your family," she said in an exclusive interview with PUSH.
5. Enchong Dee
Enchong is a firm believer in staying single rather than being with someone you don’t see spending the rest of your life with.
“I’d rather focus on myself, I’d rather focus on my single life than have a relationship and not see that person as someone that you would be forever with,” he said in an interview on "Magandang Buhay."
6. Joshua Garcia
It's been almost a year since Joshua became single, and he has learned a lot of life lessons from his breakup.
"May mga taong magiging parte ng buhay mo, may dahilan kung bakit naging parte sila ng buhay mo. Siguro may dapat silang ituro sa'yo para sa future mo, sa magiging asawa mo, mas ready ka, ‘di ba?” he said during his guesting on "We Rise Together."
7. Ivana Alawi
Ivana is very much single and ready to mingle, but she knows her worth and wouldn't settle for anything less.
“Yes, I’m single. I’ve been single for a long time, kaya I think it’s time," she admitted during her contract signing with ABS-CBN. “I want someone who will love me for myself. Tapos, ‘yung hindi manloloko. Ayoko ng manloloko eh."
8. Bela Padilla
Bela has no regrets in deciding to be single, especially since her priority has always been her craft.
“Single forever, I would be sad if ten years from now, kung hindi ko nagawa itong mga ‘to. Tapos napanood ko, tapos sasabihin ko sa sarili ko, ‘Sana ako na lang.’ So, mas lalo ako malulungkot,” she said in an Instagram post.
