Jane De Leon was among the many celebrities who extended their help to Filipinos in need amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new Darna spoke about her relief efforts in an interview with Metro.Style published last April 30. In the feature, Jane opened up about her experience providing aid to families of unemployed workers in Rizal and Pasig.
“I wanted to do something to help because I’ve been there,” she said. “Alam ko ’yung feeling nang walang makain.”
“After Cainta, ’yung second batch naman po sa Brgy. Pineda in Pasig. I told my mom, ‘Thank you Lord for using me as an instrument so that I can help other people.’” she added.
“Doon po talaga makikita na sobrang naghihirap po ’yung mga tao. Inabutan namin ’yung mga senior citizens pati ’yung mga tricycle and taxi drivers. Doon po kami naka-focus kasi sa panahon ngayon, wala silang trabaho,” she said.
Jane also shared the words she lives by when it comes to helping other people.
“Every day is a new chance para makatulong. And every day is a new opportunity para makapagdulot ng ngiti sa puso,” she enthused.
