Barely a month since they wrapped their successful #UniTENTWeStand campaign, Angel Locsin and Dimples Romana are back with another philanthropic project, this time raising funds to provide free COVID-19 testing to Filipinos.
The actress-philanthropist took to Instagram yesterday, May 18, to announce that they are relaunching of the “Shop and Share” campaign which was first established in 2009 after the onslaught of Typhoon Ondoy.
Actors, singers, basketball players, and other personalities will be asked to donate personal items which will then be auctioned off to fans. They will use the funds raised to purchase COVID-19 test kits for the less fortunate.
“We would like to purchase test kits and allow testing opportunities for the poorer sectors in the hopes of helping out in the efforts to provide mass testing in the country. Yes, in support of mass testing,” she wrote.
“Because in this way we can make a higher impact, by pushing the TEST-TRACE-ISOLATE/TREAT formula that is the only proven way to defeat the virus,” she added.
Angel’s BFF and her campaign partner Dimples also shared the post on her Instagram and encouraged everyone to be part of their latest project.
“We pray we can encourage you once again to help out so we can all come together and help flatten the curve in our country! For all our artist friends, we would love and appreciate your support,” Dimples wrote.
Angel and Dimples' last fundraising drive was the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign, which they established together with Neil Arce. They were able to provide isolation tents to 135 hospitals nationwide.
