5 of the best mommy moments in Star Cinema movies

Mothers have their own way of speaking right through our hearts, even when they're just fictional characters in movies.

Here, we listed down five of the best, most heartwarming scenes big screen mothers have had with their children that we can all totally relate to (and ugly cried at):

1. Josie and Carla in “Anak”

The 2000 film gave us a clear depiction of an OFW mom’s struggle to connect with her kids after being away from them for so long. And the intense confrontation between Josie (Vilma Santos) and Carla (Claudine Barretto) didn’t only give us goosebumps-inducing acting from two prized stars, it also exposed us to the reality of how far mothers are willing to go for their children.

2. Lea and Ojie in “Bata, Bata, Paano Ka Ginawa?”

Lea (Vilma Santos) in the 1996 film “Bata, Bata, Paano Ka Ginawa?” was the epitome of a supermom. Although her relationship with her children went through rough spots — remember that confrontation with Ojie (Carlo Aquino)? — Lea was the proof of how strong and courageous mothers can be when fighting for what’s right for their family.

3. Michelle and Mika in “Love You To The Stars and Back”

Mika's (Julia Barretto) bond with Michelle (Carmina Villaroel) was so strong that even after the latter's (mini spoiler alert!) death, everything Mika did was still in honor of her mother. She was willing to go through obstacles and uncertainty if it meant being able to get in touch with her mom again.

4. Grace and Bobbie, Teddie, Gabbie, Alex, and CJ in “Four Sisters and a Wedding”

It’s hard to raise five kids, but Grace Salazar (Coney Reyes) made it look so easy in the iconic family drama “Four Sisters and the Wedding.” Grace’s wisdom and kind heart got the Salazar family through tough times, fake careers, and accusations of parental "favoritism." Sa huli, love pa rin ang nanalo!

5. Grace and Bochok in “One More Try”

If you think you already know what being a selfless mom looks like, then you probably haven't met Grace (Angel Locsin) from the 2015 drama film “One More Try." Imagine having to ask your ex-lover's wife to "borrow her husband for a night" for the sake of your child’s life? Iba talaga ang kayang gawin ng mga ina para sa mga anak nila!
