Here's how the 'Love Lockdown' stars adjusted to filming a movie at home

If you've seen the trailer for the upcoming iWant film, "Love Lockdown" then you might be a little curious how its lead stars managed to film scenes while Luzon was under quarantine.

During the upcoming movie’s virtual press conference yesterday, May 13, cast members Jake Cuenca, JM De Guzman, Arjo Atayde, Tony Labrusca, Sue Ramirez, and Kylie Verzosa shared their firsthand experience shooting the movie in their own homes with the help of directors Andoy Ranay, Manny Palo, Darnel Villaflor, and Noel Escondo.

“It was something so new, I've never filmed this way before,” Tony said. “I was anxious pero at the same time super excited. Working with Direk Manny, the whole experience itself was quite enjoyable. It was really chill, a lot more chill than I thought.”

Real life couple Jake and Kylie enjoyed finally getting back on camera.

“It was a one of a kind experience. We had to assist them (the directors) with the shoot we had, with the production design. Aside from being behind the scenes, we had to act. Siyempre, nakaka pressure din umarte next to a very veteran actor (Jake). Nakakakaba po siya but otherwise, it was a very unique experience,” she shared.

“My favorite part [on doing this film] was the acting, period. Although it was very tiring, ‘yung experience namin, we had to learn things we didn't know how to do," he said.

"[I have] new found respect for the people on the set. New found respect for people behind the camera. I've always respected the production, but this time around mas naiintindihan mo trabaho nila,” he added.

JM and Arjo, on the other hand, admitted they had quite a hard time shooting the film.

“Kapag nagu-good take ako ni Direk Andoy (Ranay), talagang ‘Ahhh, yes!’ Kasi honestly, ‘yung buong process, sobra akong affected sa nangyayari. I keep on forgetting my lines, I space out, nakakalimutan ko ‘yung blocking ko,” JM revealed.

Arjo added, “Just like everyone, nanibago kami. I couldn't get right to it because I'm at home. Sanay kami na there's a certain work mode [kapag nasa set]. I think that's how it is for several artistas na kapag nasa bahay, pahinga talaga. We couldn't really feel the work mode.”

Meanwhile, Sue saw the new set up as part of an "evolution."

“We're seeing Philippine cinema evolve before our eyes. Parang isa ito sa mga unang ginawa sa Pilipinas. At the end of the day, historical itong magiging three-part movie na ito because it has never been done before,” she enthused.

"Love Lockdown" will start streaming on iWant this May 15!
