Maris Racal has helped raise over 600 thousand pesos in a fundraising project with nonprofit organization Agbay Tagum for the benefit of frontliners in her hometown of Tagum City in Davao.
On Twitter last March 26, the “Block Z” actress encouraged her followers to take part in the fundraising project which aims to provide personal protective equipment for Tagum City health workers.
"I know these are tough times and we have to save money as much as possible, but I am humbly asking those who have more than enough to help us. Every peso counts," Maris said.
And as of April 1, the project has raised over 600,000 pesos. Maris expressed her gratitude to everyone who donated.
“As of April 1, we have already collected more than ₱600,000.00! Thank you to the donors, this will greatly help our frontliners in Tagum City. But we need more help as we want to reach more hospitals. If you want to help, know that we are still accepting donations,” she tweeted.
Maris most recently starred in the zombie thriller “Block Z” alongside Julia Barretto, Ian Veneracion, Ina Raymundo, Dimples Romana, McCoy De Leon, Yves Flores, and Joshua Garcia.
