5 best moments from Regine Velasquez's 'One Night With Regine' birthday concert

Regine Velasquez successfully raised 4.2 million pesos during her 50th birthday concert, in partnership with Bantay Bata 163.

The concert, held last Saturday, April 25, lasted for over three hours and featured performances of the Asia’s Songbird’s classic OPM hits as well as stunning song covers.

Here, we listed down five of the most memorable moments from #OneNightWithRegine:

1. The birthday greetings from her closest friends in showbiz!

Before the show began, Regine received a number of birthday greetings from her showbiz friends including Sharon Cuneta, Judy Ann Santos, Vice Ganda, Sarah Geronimo-Guidicelli, Martin Nievera, Zsazsa Padilla, and Jaya, among others. The Megastar even composed a piece for her good friend Regine, and donated 1 million peso to the singer’s fundraising concert.

2. Regine’s OPM song covers

Apart from singing her classic hits, Regine also performed song covers of OPM hits such as Eraserheads’ “With A Smile,” Unique Salonga’s “Sino,” and KZ Tandingan’s “Mahal Ko o Mahal Ako.”

3. Regine's duet with Lea Salonga

Perhaps one of the most powerful parts of the concert was Regine’s now-iconic duet with Lea Salonga where they sang classic hits such as “I Don’t Know How To Love Him," "What I Did For Love," and "Someone Like You." The performance was truly one for the books.

4. Regine’s heartwarming duet with son Nate

Regine was joined by her son Nate to perform a “The Greatest Showman” track “A Million Dreams.” Of course, being the son of two of the greatest singers in the country, Nate showed immense talent.

5. The heartfelt finale

Regine ended the concert with a rendition of “Love is All That Matters” and reminded everyone how important it is to show love during this time of crisis.
