Darren Espanto has pulled out of the “Singer 2020” competition in China.
During the launch of his newest endorsement last March 3, the young singer revealed that he will not be flying to China to compete for the show due to travel bans imposed after the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Darren was supposed to be one of the contenders of the show, as he earlier shared through an Instagram post last January.
"I can't talk about it much now pero I was supposed to go to China pero hindi nga po natuloy dahil doon sa coronavirus and all the travel bans. I think it's safer na 'di muna lumipad,” he shared.
Even though he decided to withdraw from the competition, Darren is still very grateful for all the opportunities coming his way.
"Ang dami ko na po natutunan at napuntahan na mga bansa na hindi ko inakala na mapupuntahan ko po. And all these achievements na natanggap ko, I feel very happy," he enthused.
This is not Darren’s first brush with Singer 2020. In April last year, the singer was also invited to guest star in an episode -- he sang alongside a Russian performer.
