Sylvia Sanchez and her husband Arturo Atayde tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The actress took to Instagram to share the news today, March 31, along with the photo of their results from the COVID-19 test. In the post, Sylvia revealed that she and her husband were rushed to hospital last March 24 due to chills, cough, and shortness of breath.
"On March 24, my husband and I were brought to Cardinal Santos as I was having chills, and he had cough and shortness of breath. We were made to take the COVID-19 swab test and since then, Art and I have self-isolated," Sylvia wrote in the caption.
"A week later, we finally received the results and we both came out positive for COVID-19," she added.
Sylvia then asked everyone whom they had contact with in the past weeks to check for symptoms such as "shortness of breath, cough, fever, LBM, and sore throat."
"Art and I are getting better each day. Although this is slower than our usual recovery, we know that with prayers and strict compliance with our doctor’s orders, we will get there. Until then, we will keep you updated on how this progresses," she continued.
The couple are the latest celebrities to contract the virus, following Christopher De Leon and Iza Calzado, who are now both out of the hospital and in recovery.
