Ellen Adarna is breaking the stigma towards people who choose to undergo mental health training.
On Instagram last March 23, the actress shared the story of Harun, one of the Kokoro Program trainees who underwent the same meditative therapy she did in Bali. Mental training helped him with his drug addiction, which he has been struggling with since he was 18.
"It's a very, very hard program. But everyday, you work hard to get back your self-confidence with your own will and power. At the end of each day, it's a great feeling of achievement," Harun said in the video.
Ellen then clarified that the training is not a rehab for any sort of addiction. Instead, it helps those who struggle with mental health fight off “demons” in their heads.
“This is not a rehab for addiction but a mental training to shift your mindset, body, and identity. Because at the end of the day, the demons [are just] all in the mind,” she explained.
Ellen herself is currently under a 100-day post training program.
“I’m only 7 days post program and I’m doing good and amazing! Happy and balanced. I have 93 days left until I finish the whole program; 93 days to make the daily rituals and discipline a natural thing for me,” she shared.
Ellen first talked about her meditative therapy early this March, revealing that she decided to do it after being “stuck in a black hole for almost three years.”
