Being locked up at home need not be boring — all you need are a good set of films, plus your phones or laptops to save you from cabin fever.
Here, we gathered some of feel-good movies you can watch if you’re craving for some escapism amid the frightening coronavirus pandemic:
"Got 2 Believe" (2002)
Need we say more? This cult classic starring Claudine Barretto and Rico Yan remains iconic to this day, with the right amount of kilig, pain, and a hint of comedy. Plus, the love-hate relationship between their characters? The best. Just, the best ever.
"Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo" (2006)
The film mirrors the reality of marriage: how marrying the love of your life also means dealing with the good, the bad, the ugly, and everything in between including (most of the time) your stubborn in-laws.
"A Very Special Love" (2007)
Ah, the great love story of Miggy Montenegro (John Lloyd Cruz) and Laida Magtalas (Sarah Geronimo). The film (actually, the whole trilogy) will always be a go-to feel-good pick as we dream of living the life of Laida, who got to be with the man of her dreams just by being herself.
"Here Comes The Bride" (2010)
This riot story of five people swapping souls is as hilarious as it sounds. Add Angelica Panganiban and Eugene Domingo into the mix and you’re in for a rollercoaster comedy ride.
"Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme" (2012)
Eugene Domingo portraying twin sisters will leave you with nothing but endless laughs. Not to spoil you, but you're in for some bigating cameos in this comedy -- another reason why you should watch it.
"Must Be...Love" (2013)
Ah, the good, old puppy love days. This Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla starrer will deliver a strong dose of nostalgia with its best friends-turned-lovers love story and of course, teenage KathNiel.
"Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy" (2013)
If you think “Kimmy Dora” is already amazing enough with Eugene’s two character portrayal, Vice Ganda in “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” will quadruple the fun. Portraying four characters of different genders, Vice really went hard in this movie and it is absolute crazy fun.
"Bride For Rent" (2014)
You can always count on Kim Chiu’s movies for the best kind of laughs, but this movie in particular will take all your problems away. From the title itself, Rocky (Kim) was "rented" as a bride by Rocco (Xian) in order to claim his inheritance.
"Just The Way You Are" (2015)
This book-turned-movie is what the best of Wattpad stories are made of: heartthrob-meets-nerdy girl-and-tries-to-win-her-heart. But how Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil portrayed Sophia and Drake on the big screen will leave you dreaming of your own campus fairytale.
"Loving in Tandem" (2017)
The innocent, young love of Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber in “Loving in Tandem” is the perfect thing to watch unfold if you want to destress. Plus, the bright personality of Shine (Maymay) in the movie will leave you feeling energized and positive.
