5 John Lloyd Cruz rom-coms that never gets old

Ah, John Lloyd Cruz. The great John Lloyd Cruz who can pull off any role, star in any genre, and can easily be paired with any leading lady.

And while he always knows how to tug our heartstrings with his hugot lines in the cult favorites “One More Chance” or “The Mistress,” he will always have a sweet spot in our hearts for his rom-coms.

Here, we listed down some of our all-time favorite John Lloyd rom-coms:

"A Very Special Love" trilogy (2008, 2009, 2013)

The trilogy gave birth to John Lloyd’s team-up with Sarah Geronimo, AshLloyd. They starred as the masungit boss Miggy Montenegro (John Lloyd) and the very sweet and madaldal assistant Laida Magtalas (Sarah). The three films showed the stages of their love story: from how they met, fell in love, fell apart, and eventually, got back together.

"24/7 In Love" (2012)

John Lloyd and Angelica Panganiban teamed up for the first time in “24/7.” They played two strangers who unexpectedly fell in love, and they delivered well -- their outstanding performances perfectly matched with the beautiful Vietnam setting.

"My Amnesia Girl" (2013)

Remember when pick-up lines were a huge thing way back when? John Lloyd and Toni Gonzaga made them extra yummy (este, cheesy) in this movie as Apollo (John Lloyd) and Irene (Toni). That scene where Apollo filled Irene’s home with numerous love notes with pick-up lines is truly one for the books!

"Just The 3 Of Us" (2016)

Who would have ever thought that a simple one-night stand would result in a cute, feel good love story? Plus, John Lloyd teaming up with Jennylyn Mercado gave us a fresh, new pair to root for.

"Finally Found Someone" (2017)

AshLloyd reunited on the big screen in this movie. Here, Aprilyn (Sarah) went viral after she was captured crying in the middle of the crowd after her fiancé left her at the altar on their wedding. She then met PR wiz Rafael (John Lloyd) to help clean up her act. Love ensued!
