'Clarita,' to compete at 40th Fantasporto International Film Festival

Jodi Sta. Maria is also a Best Actress nominee at the renowned film fest!

'Clarita,' to compete at 40th Fantasporto International Film Festival

ABS-CBN Films, Black Sheep's "Clarita" is officially part of the 40th Fantasporto International Film Festival!
The blockbuster horror film, which was helmed by director Derick Cabrido, is one of the main competition films under the Fantasy Films and Orient Express categories, respectively. It will compete against films from different countries, including Japan, Finland, Taiwan, and Russia, among others. 

“Clarita” lead actress Jodi Sta. Maria is also nominated for a Best Actress award.

The festival, which will be held in Porto City, Portugal, will run from February 25 to March 8.

"Clarita" tells the story of Clarita Villanueva, a Filipina teenager who gained worldwide attention during the 1950s after becoming a victim of demonic possessions while locked up in jail. In November last year, Direk Derick won the Best Director award at the 10th Mirabile Dictu International Catholic Film Festival in Vatican for the film. 

It premiered locally in June last year.
