Arjo Atayde dedicated his Best Actor recognition at the 2020 Asian Academy Creative Awards, to everyone who has experienced “self-doubt.”
In an Instagram post last Saturday, December 5, he said, “This is for everyone who has been discouraged by others to pursue their dreams, for everyone who has been told that they don’t belong, for everyone with self-doubt.”
Arjo won for his role as barber Benjo Malaya in the socio-political series “Bagman.” He also offered the big win to the entire team and his loved ones.
He continued, “For everyone behind the scenes that made this possible, ABS-CBN, Dreamscape, Rein Entertainment, for my loved ones who continuously support my every move — my family, friends, and Bubs, and for all my fellow actors in the Philippines — my win is yours. Here’s to fighting the good fight and doing what you’re passionate about! 🇵🇭 Thank you to everyone who messaged and sent their congratulations. Appreciate each and every one of you. ✌🏻”
“To the Asian Academy Creative Awards, thank you for the recognition and for recognizing Filipino talent. It is truly such an honor!”
Arjo’s girlfriend, “Isa Pa With Feelings” actress Maine Mendoza congratulated him on Twitter.
She wrote, "Waaaaahhhh well-deserved!!!!! Wooot wooot congratulations, Arjo !!!! 🥺👏👏👏 Biggest fan 🙋♀️"
