Paulo Avelino on dedicating Best Actor win to son Aki: ‘ Lahat ng ginagawa ko para sa mga taong minamahal ko’

With the film’s bravery and realistic take on fan girling, it’s safe to say that Paulo Avelino and Charlie Dizon have learned a lot while filming “Fan Girl.”

During the film’s bloggers conference last December 28, Charlie said the film gave her a clearer perspective of how fan girling is in real life.

Meanwhile, Paulo had a different kind of realization.

Apart from the two stars' powerful acting, the film’s ending also had a huge impact in the conversation about the movie.

Director Antoinette Jadaone then tried to explain how they came up with the ending in the most spoiler-free way possible.

“Napagdebatihan namin [nina Dan Villegas, producers, and editors] 'yung magiging ending. Kasi before we agreed on the final version, we had a preview with our friends, with our filmmaker friends and dalawa yung naging reaction nila: it's either they think the film is defeatist or the film is hopeful. Do we want to make a film na defeatist or do we want to make a film na may call to action?” she shared.

Does it mean that we’ll see more of this kind of “political” films in the future projects of Direk Tonet?

“Fan Girl” is a collaboration between ABS-CBN Films' Black Sheep, Globe Studios, Project 8, Epicmedia, and Crossword Productions.
