“Princess DayaReese” actors Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber are the closest of friends, and they are now content with what they have.
Maymay and Edward, also known for their tandem as MayWard, last had an acting project together almost a year ago, for a “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode. Reuniting for the first time again, the two admitted that there was awkwardness in the beginning.
“Yes po. Naranasan po namin ‘yung awkwardness,” said Maymay during the film’s Royal Presentation on Saturday, December 20. Nag-workshop kami at brineak dun ‘yung [awkwardness].
Edward agreed and added, “Star Cinema knows this, we always ask for time to do our workshops, build our characters, to build the certain connection that we need, with our acting coach.”
The young stars also shared the things that they missed about each other.
Edward, meanwhile, missed Maymay’s “bright” personality. He said, “Maymay has atmosphere, at alam ng lahat ng nasa set, she has this aura that she brings with her. I can compare it to anything warm, pag malamig tapos may hot choco ka, ‘yun. Getting to see that is always nice, always a pleasure.”
They also clarified that they are good friends and they are happy with “whatever [they] have.”
Edward related, “I’m really happy. The word we always use is ‘content.’ We are content with where we are, with the friendship that we have. There’s no need to push it any further. There were even times where Maymay and I worked — si Direk Barry siguro he saw this throughout shooting, a lot — hindi kami nag-uusap, we’re literally just sitting there. Not even talking, but after two hours that we finally get to take, we’ll light up and we’ll be able to work together. Maymay and I are the closest of friends. This is where we are and we’re content and happy with what we have.”
The two also exchanged beautiful friendship vows that showed how much they appreciate each other.
With full sincerity, Maymay said, “Kahit ano man, kung meron ka mang pinagdaanan, nandito lang ako.
In turn, Edward promised that he will do everything to protect his leading lady.
“My promise is to do my best in protecting not necessarily physically, I mean I’ll always be there to protect you [if you’re ever attacked] in any way. I know you, I know your heart. I’ll be there to try and protect you even though there’s so many times, it’s not hard to see that she doesn’t need it, but I’ll be there to always pray for you. I’ll always have your back in everything that you do. I’d be proud to be able to say that ‘that person’s in my life,’” he said
