“Kung hindi mo ako kayang ituring bilang isang ina, respetuhin mo man lang ako bilang isang tao!"
In the 2000 film “Anak,” Vilma Santos plays Josie, an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Hong Kong. After years of working as a domestic helper, Josie finally came home to her family in the Philippines. However, her return was met with resentment from her children, especially her eldest, Carla (Claudine Barretto). No matter how Josie tries to become part of their lives again, Carla was dismissive and remained rebellious.
“Anak” was written by Ricky Lee and Raymond Lee, and was directed by Rory Quintos.
