Janine Berdin is on the 'road to self-love'

"Tawag ng Tanghalan" singing champ Janine Berdin has opened up about her "road to self-love" on "I Feel U"!

Hosted by Toni Gonzaga, the digital talk show featured celebrities with courageous hearts last Sunday, November 1 — and Janine is definitely one fearless gal!

The 18-year-old singer said, "This year lang po, recently, I embraced change. I wasn't afraid to change."

She admitted she had fears but she overcame them, saying, "But now, 2020, sabi ko sa sarili ko na I shouldn't be afraid of change."

Toni then remarked, "Kasi nag-trending ang iyong new look, parang bigla mong ni-launch, the new Janine. The Janine 2.0."

And then ayun po, sobrang nakaka-overwhelm 'yung reaction, I'm so thankful."

When asked about how the changes affected her emotionally, Janine said, "Sobra po 'yung difference."

"Pati 'yung people around me po nagasasabi talaga na ang happy-happy ko na po, wala na daw po akong hesitations sa self ko. That coming from other people, nano-notice ko din po sa self ko, sobrang nakaka-happy na I'm more confident now I'm happier with myself, and finally nandito na po talaga ako sa road to self-love."

Janine received negative comments, but she handled them with grace.

"Now po, hindi ko na po talaga nama-mind [ang negative comments]. Na-shock po ako sa self ko, wala na po akong nafi-feel. Kasi sobrang happy ko na po sa self ko, secured na po ako sa self ko," she related. "Wala na po akong iniisip na negativity 'cause my family, my supporters, and my friends have always been there. And hanggang ngayon, I make myself happy, the people in my life make me happy."

Another courageous heart featured in the episode is Kapamilya raketero Markdel Ventura.

Ever since high school, Markdel has tried different ways to earn money but right now, he works as an events host and singer.

Markdel's latest venture is a kimchi business that he began this quarantine. "Sa awa naman at habag ng Diyos, ang dami pong sumuporta, ang dami pong bumili."

The certified raketero said that he works hard because he wants to provide a better life for his family.

"Kumbaga parang 'yun 'yung purpose ng buhay ko eh. Parang mas nakaka-fulfill na makita mong masaya 'yung pamilya mo lalo 'yung parents mo," he said.
